Definition
The degree to which an individual adapts performance to novel, changing, or uncertain work demands — handling emergencies/crises, managing work stress, solving problems creatively, learning new tasks/technologies, demonstrating interpersonal/cultural/physical adaptability (Pulakos, Arad, Donovan & Plamondon, 2000). The fourth higher-order performance dimension alongside task, contextual, and counterproductive performance. Established literature construct.
