An applicant's capacity to acquire the knowledge/skills of a job, assessed via a structured mini-training-plus-evaluation work sample (learn a task sample, then perform it). Predicts training success more strongly than the eventual job-performance criterion (Callinan & Robertson 2000). Established selection-method construct.
